Janpath is suitable for street shopping for jewellery, souvenirs, handicrafts and numerous handmade products. Bargaining skills will come handy. The only thing you need here is ample time at disposal.

It is situated at Connaught place and therefore is very easy to access. Various ATMs and banks lie nearby in case you are short of cash. The railway station is at a walking distance.


Janpath is mostly recommended for jewellery and handicraft shopping. It's a lovely place to walk around and look for interesting handicrafts from Tibet, Gujarat, Kashmir and Rajasthan specifically.

Shops on the main road sell a good range of souvenirs and gifts. Handmade products like table cloth, bed cover, shawls, dupattas, bedspreads and many attractive items are sold at reasonable rates. Lots of silver and artificial jewellery studded with semi-precious stones are available here. Oxidised or boho jewellery is also common. Kindly carry a shopping bag where you can fit in all your purchases as they usually wrap the items in polythene bags. There is a separate lane where vendors sell cheap western clothes in the open.

Janpath is a beautiful place for testing your bargaining skills. Please don't buy the stuff on the first price they speak as the shopkeepers inflate the prices. You might even get an item at half of the first quoted price!

If you are a Shisha Lover, there is a shop named 'Flavors Adda', one will go crazy with the variety of flavours they offer. Cinema halls are present on the premises as well.


You can stop for the famed cold coffee at DePaul's. Operating since 1952, it is one of the oldest hangouts for youngsters in Delhi.

If you are looking for lunch, Sarvarna Bhavan is the best for delectable South Indian cuisine. Fresco is recommended for an elaborate continental buffet.

There are plenty of popular food chains like Cafe Coffee Day, Domino's, McDonald's, KFC on the other side of the road.
